My name is Susan Gilell-Stuy.

Brilliant leadership doesn’t just happen. It isn’t magic. It isn’t an accident. It’s intentional.

For more than a decade, I have become a valued strategic partner for the executives, leaders, and teams that I’ve worked with, helping them discover, fine tune and apply the leadership behaviors and skills that enable them to consistently deliver outstanding tangible results.

I have a strong background and expertise in leadership development, emotional intelligence, conflict management, and evidence-based predictors of executive success. I am well-versed in solution focused, strengths based, and stakeholder coaching methodologies, in addition to a focus on coaching millennial leaders. My clients come from a diverse group of industries which includes: Technology, Telecommunications, Financial Services/Wealth Management, Banking, Insurance, Biotech, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Confectionary, Cosmetics, Apparel, Energy and Internet Startups.

Prior to becoming a coach and consultant I held leadership and senior leadership roles in Fortune 500 companies, among them JP Morgan Chase, Prudential Investments, AT&T, and Merrill Lynch.

I enjoy coaching for the Dress for Success GPN Worldwide Program sponsored by Wal-Mart on a pro bono basis, and working as a strategic partner with other executive coaches helping them build and flawlessly execute a focused business plan that ensures a robust, sustainable demand for their services. I also speak on the topics of leadership, emotional intelligence, and conflict management.

Like you, I aim high and push the limits of what I believe I can do. I’ve got a compelling purpose that captures the commitment, values, and set of beliefs that leads me to do what I do. And a set of aspirational goals that make it easier to work hard and take risks in an environment where nothing is a sure thing. We see opportunity where others have not.

I know firsthand that leadership is more than chasing and solving problems – it’s seeing new possibilities where others are not looking.

My passion is partnering with my clients to solve complex problems, uncovering the root cause in a sea of issues and seeing new possibilities where you weren’t looking before.  It doesn’t matter where you are; together we design the future and get you to the other side where you’re successful, happy and proud of what you’ve accomplished.

I know how to connect the dots.

Some of my earliest memories are about trying to understand what makes people tick. That led to studying psychology (and my degree). A twist of fate led me to an exciting career in business, which opened the door to guiding those I led to let go of what was holding them back so they could do amazing things. It’s what made me want to become an executive coach. We all need to connect change with something very personal to drive new behaviors—otherwise, any progress is temporary. I’ve cracked that code and will show you how to make the most of your talents.

I’m highly collaborative.

Being an effective leader isn’t about a title – people determine if you’re a leader.  I’ve learned from experience how to motivate other people to build bridges, breakdown barriers and take bold and effective action. What does this mean for you? That we are a team from Day 1—whether we’re discussing where you want to focus your time or how you can influence the stakeholders that will be critical to your success.
